About the Project
Social and environmental impact
- Preliminary assessments indicate that the Mphanda Nkuwa development will fare very favourably on social and environmental impact compared to industry standards. Limited social and environmental impacts, small floading area (4% of the HCB reservoir) and short time of water retentation;
- Few people live on the steep hills to be flooded and they are today mainly used for grazing.
