In a heartfelt gesture of corporate social responsibility, the Mphanda Nkuwa Hydroelectric Project Implementation Office (GMNK) delivered essential supplies to the nursery of Maputo Central Hospital (HCM).
The donation included disposable diapers and infant formula—vital items for the care of newborns in the hospital.
The contribution, made possible through the collective efforts of GMNK staff and the institution itself, reflects the project’s continued commitment to community well-being. GMNK Technical Director Sérgio Elísio personally delivered the items, stating, “This is a small contribution, but made in a great spirit of solidarity. We hope it can bring some relief to the families and professionals who take care of these children.”
The donation was warmly received by Dr. Joyce Monteiro, Clinical Director of the Nursery, who expressed deep appreciation for the support, noting the positive impact such gestures have on the hospital’s daily operations.
This initiative reinforces GMNK’s dedication to social inclusion and human development, not only in the areas directly influenced by the Mphanda Nkuwa project but also across broader Mozambican communities. It highlights how infrastructure projects can extend their positive impact beyond construction and energy, playing a role in improving health outcomes and community resilience.
